03 New York - Montreal
14. Aug. 007
After a Sunday in New York, doing Manhattan on push bike, we were ready to depart from Teterboro Airport in the morning. After clearing with the immigration and filing an IFR flight plan to Montreal, I requested a VFR departure in order to do a sightseeing trip down he Hudson River past the Liberty statue and up the eastside.
The just installed TAS (traffic advisory System) came to good use as we came down the Hudson. Lot’s of helicopters in the air. To stay in uncontrolled airspace we had to fly no higher than 1.000 feet above the water. Robert claimed a need to change underwear!!
Just after passing the Brooklyn Bridge I did a 180 degree turn to come back down the corridor and back up the Hudson River and returning towards the Teterboro Airport.
Then I picked up the IFR clearance in the air, and continued north towards Montreal
